It is in the magnificent location of Altnaharra by Lairg in Sutherland and our hotel is one of the finest leisure and sporting venues in Scotland and has been for nearly 200 years.
The hotel restaurant is a great place for you to enjoy fine a la carte dining after a long and enjoyable day spent fishing or shooting. Our friendly staff will furnish you will excellent wines and some of the best food to be found in the Highlands! Our a la carte menu is served exclusively in the hotel restaurant and changes regularly for your enjoyment. If you are looking for a lighter alternative then why not try our excellent bar menu.
Altnaharra guests are spoilt for choice of activities, both in and around the hotel and further afield. Apart from the vast selection of fishing and shooting opportunities, guests can opt for hill walking, mountain biking, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting or golf. Alternatively, for those who would rather drive on the miles of quiet Highland roads, guest can explore some of the many sites such as the Naver Trail, Smoo Cave, Dunrobin Castle, or the Glenmorangie whiskey distillery in Tain.
