Dropped Anchor- View Camping, Breage, Helston, Cornwall
Spread across approximately 1.5 acres, the site includes 15 generously sized pitches and 5 smaller pitches arranged around a central recreational area. Each pitch is thoughtfully named after the flowers, trees and plants found across the campsite, adding a personal and welcoming touch. Access is via a secluded no-through lane that leads directly to the entrance gate, creating a quiet and tucked-away feel, enhanced by rustic farm memorabilia dotted around the site.
The panoramic views are a true highlight, stretching across the sea and the surrounding peninsula. The landscape constantly shifts throughout the day as the light changes, creating an ever-evolving backdrop of coastal beauty. When night falls, the scenery becomes even more magical, with the twinkling lights of Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole illuminating the distance, alongside the glow of passing boats and the striking presence of Tater Du Lighthouse.
Surrounded by verdant fields and close to the quaint hamlet of Rinsey, every pitch enjoys a picturesque setting, offering a truly enchanting retreat for couples, families and friends.
Dropped Anchor operates entirely off-grid, with no electricity on site. Lighting is provided by solar-powered systems, and guests can charge phones or small power packs using solar panels for a small fee. With minimal light pollution, the night sky is wonderfully clear, offering superb stargazing on cloudless evenings.
Each pitch includes its own fire pit, either stone built into the ground or created from a repurposed iron pig trough, adding character and charm. Logs and kindling are available to purchase on site, making it easy to enjoy cosy evenings by the fire, whether toasting marshmallows or simply unwinding after a day of exploring.
For those looking for a little extra comfort, glamping is also available with a stay in Holly Caravan, offering a relaxed alternative while still enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of this unique coastal setting.
