you to the sailing centre of Kippford passing the Mote of Mark, an important
Celtic settlement with panoramic views of the estuary. The area is one of the
few red squirrel habitats remaining in Britain.
The local hotel, The Barons Craig is only a short walk
from the cottage and has a good restaurant with an excellent wine list as well
as an art gallery.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the
surrounding area and there is so much to do and see on the beautiful Solway
Coast. For example Mountain biking at the well known 7 Stanes; pony trekking;
golfing on a championship course at nearby Southerness; bird and wildlife
watching at Mersehead RSPB nature reserve or simply relaxing and enjoying the
stunning beauty of the surroundings.
