Bassenthwaite Lake is ideal for those interested in watersports, Bassenthwaite Sailing Club is only one mile away where you can hire or launch a sailing dinghy, and the lake is excellent for windsurfing and canoeing or just relax on the lake shore enjoying the sun or a picnic.

Herdwick Croft Carvan Park is a small, secluded, yet well equipped site at the Northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake, within easy reach of the best of the English Lake District. The site has static holiday homes for hire, sleeping up to six people in comfort, or sites for your own caravan or touring vehicle.

The views from the site are magnificent overlooking the best of the Lakeland fells including Skiddaw and Binsey. You are surrounded by tranquil countryside and woodland areas. Bassenthwaite Lake is 50 yards from the site. Well behaved Children & Dogs are Welcome. The site is within easy reach of Keswick on Derwentwater, Cockermouth and even Carlisle. There are superb family facilities nearby and it is an excellent area for the outdoor enthusiast.

Herdwick Croft is within 3 miles of Skiddaw and close to the Northern fell of Binsey, so walkers have a good selection of walks on their doorstep. The North Lakeland fells are renowned for the quality and variety of the walks from gentle strolls to epic day adventures!

Cockermouth golf course is only 2 miles away, there is horse riding nearby and one mile away is a fitness centre complete with swimming pool. Whinlatter forest is excellent for mountain biking with many different forest trails around the woodland area. The property has a river running through it so visitors keen on fishing should bring their rods!
