The Crown & Victoria is a family orientated pub. Mark Hilyard and his business partner Isabel Thomas took over the pub in December 2006.
They have worked very hard over the past few years to offer excellent culinary delights at affordable prices. In October 2008 their efforts were rewarded with an AA Rosette for the pubs quality of food that has been prepared with care, understanding and skill using good-value, wholesome, organic and free-range ingredients.
The Conservatory: We call this room 'The Conservatory' it is very spacious and can hold up to 40 people! It has a lovely backdrop of our rolling gardens which spread around the grounds of The Crown & Victoria. This room is usually booked for people who want to hold a private function. We have booked it out for wedding receptions, private entertainment, birthdays, anniversaries, banquetting amongst many other celebatory occasions.
Our Bar - We are very proud of the relationship we have with our regular customers. The bar stocks a whole selection of all your favourite beers, wines and spirits. Amongst a range of delicious soft drinks.
There are lots of fun and interesting things to do in around Somerset during your stay at The Crown & Victoria. Do not be fooled by the peace and solitude of this green county.
If you are an avid walker there are many walks all over from Exmoor to the Blackdowns and across to the Quantocks. Each of these rolling hills has beautiful, breath-taking views across one of the most beautiful counties in the world. Do you like walking amidst forests, fields or large open spaces? At the Crown & Victoria we can steer you in the right direction, and why not take a picnic with you which we will happily prepare before you set foot out into the wilderness.
