Field Beck, Cartmel, Windermere, Cumbria
Superbly positioned in a quiet lane on the edge of the ancient village of Cartmel, 'Field Beck' looks like the sort of Georgian house that Jane Austen might have lived in.
It is a Grade II Listed building and all its rooms catch the sun and overlook either the Priory church or the local fells. It was built on the site of the medieval tithe barn and is surrounded by a large walled garden with a pond and stream.
The house will sleep 8 adults comfortably and there are two loos, but as there is only one bath (with shower over) 6 may be a more practical number.
We also offer discounts for smaller groups.
The village is set in a lovely valley and, being off the main tourist routes, it is ideally placed for visiting the Lakes. The New York Times vote ranked Cartmel 44th on its list of best places to visit in the world.
