Rivers End is a delightful cottage beside the River Thurne, on the edge of the peaceful village of West Somerton. (Coast presenter Nicholas Crane’s favourite place in the Norfolk Broads: the cottage is shown on the programme) An area of outstanding natural beauty, it is within the Broads National Park.
The many attractions for families in this part of Norfolk include Wildlife Parks, adventure playgrounds, museums and nature reserves, not to mention the wonderful sandy beaches.
The area attracts birdwatchers throughout the year. Over 200 species have been seen in Somerton. There is a seal colony at nearby Horsey. Otters, water voles, hares and Chinese water deer can be seen from the local footpaths, and some from the cottage.
