Heckbarley, Ennerdale, Cleator, Cumbria

Heckbarley is our beautifully designed, detached cottage, situated in the heart of the village of Ennerdale Bridge. Our individually designed, detached cottage, named after one of the local fells, is situated in the village of Ennerdale Bridge. It lies within the Lake District National Park, 1 mile from beautiful Ennerdale Water. Bright and airy inside, it is comfortably furnished and well equipped, with fell views and a pleasing rear outlook over fields to the River Ehen.

The holiday cottage sleeps up to 10 people comfortably. Downstairs comprises hallway, dining room, lounge, kitchen, utility room cloakroom and conservatory. Upstairs there are four bedrooms (one en suite) and a bathroom with ‘whirlpool’ bath.

Whilst Heckbarley is primarily let for weekly self catering holidays, depending on availability, we are also pleased to offer bed & breakfast. Please telephone or email us, us as soon as possible, with your intended dates of stay and we will advise on whether we can accommodate you.

For hikers walking Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Path, Heckbarley is a cosy home from home right on your route, in the centre of Ennerdale village. Heckbarley is particularly suitable for a group of walkers, with a double en suite, a twin room, a single room and a family room (double plus single). The lounge has a log burning stove for colder evenings and the shared bathroom has a jacuzzi bath to soothe those tired limbs! The village pub is just down the road, serving tasty evening meals.
