1. Natural History Museum, London
This place
is enormous. You will need many hours to explore here, but free entry means you
can keep coming back. Kids will be fascinated by all the exhibits, ranging from
dinosaurs to marine life.
2. Roskilly’s Farm, St Kerne, Cornwall
Set in 20
acres of farmland, this free to enter organic farm is perfect for kids of all
ages. Meet the animals, watch the cows being milked and sample the farm produce
during your visit.
3. St Fagans Natural History Museum, Cardiff
This
open-air museum is set in 100 acres of parkland. Children can learn about how
life used to be, regularly brought to life in workshops and demonstrations.
They will also love the nature trails through the woodland.
4. Cumberland House Natural History Museum,
Portsmouth
This free to
enter museum is stuffed full of artefacts to entertain the kids for hours. The
observational beehive teaches inquisitive minds how a bee colony works. If bees
aren’t your thing, pay a visit to the butterfly house.
5. The National Football Museum, Manchester
Kids (big
and small) can learn about football here. This hi-tech museum is filled with
interactive exhibits. Practise your shooting skills by kicking a ball against
an electronic wall or marvel at how simple the world’s first computer were.

certainly don’t need to break the bank looking for days out this summer. This
