Sunny Hill Park Camp Site is located in Riding Gate near Wincanton Somerset. It is close to the borders of Wiltshire and Dorset, and half way between London and Exeter. Easily accessed from the A303. 

Wincanton was traditionally a stop over town, where people changed horses, drank, ate and slept in the local Inns. Sunny hill was historically farmed by the Hookins family, starting as tennant farmers and later buying the place. For many years they offered travellers a field to rest in when heading up and down the old A303. The eldest of the present Hookins clan having lived there for 77 of his 81 years so far! the country air is obviously good for your health, certainly our fantastic view is great for your mind, body and soul.

Nowadays Wincanton has a new found fame. Every year the Discworld Emporium stages 2 weekends dedicated to Terry Pratchet and his books, bringing hundreds and hundreds of Terry's fans from all over the country (and world) to Wincanton for fun and games. Wincanton becomes a virtual Discworld for the weekend with the many fans wandering around the town in amazing and sometimes outlandish Discworld costumes means the town buzzes with the local hospitality businesses worked off their feet.

The campsite has 5 mobile homes with permanent tenants in them, and 10 electric hook ups for caravans and campers. The hook ups are situated looking out at the amazing view. There is also the hay field below the campsite available for overflow campers without electric hook up.
