@Eden Gate Guest House is a family run Victorian guest house offering lovely bed & breakfast accommodation near Penrith. We are the perfect base to explore a range of attractions in the local area.

We endeavour to make our rooms as comfortable as possible. All rooms are decorated in a fresh contemporary style and our beds and big fluffy towels are frequently praised by guests for the comfort that they provide.

For breakfast you can choose from our wonderful buffet which includes juices, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, toast and tea or coffee. You can also choose a Cumberland Breakfast or a fish treat of a toasted English muffin topped with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. We also offer vegetarian options, will happily make you porridge if you ask and, given prior notice, are happy to cater for other dietary needs.

Penrith is an attractive market town with 1000 years of history. With great accessibility and a wide range of shops and places to eat, Penrith is excellent for an overnight stay during your cycle or car tour and a great base for visiting the famous sights of the North West. The Lake District is only a few minutes’ drive away while Hadrian’s Wall, the Pennines, Eden Valley. 

In the vicinity of the town are Rheged Discovery Centre, Lowther Castle Gardens (which are undergoing major restoration), important pre-historic sites such as Long Meg and Mayburgh Henge and country houses such as Hutton in the Forest and Dalemain. For the young, or young at heart, Eden Ostrich World is also close by.
