The Ulbster Arms Hotel offers fantastic accommodation in the charming village of Halkirk, set on the banks of the River Thurso. Our hotel has been a fabulous retreat for fishing, shooting, corporate and holiday guests for over 150 years.
Our wonderful hotel has been recently renovated to offer superb accommodation in 13 rooms. We now have 9 new lodge rooms: Dale Lodge consists of 7 small double en suite bath/shower rooms and 3 family en suite bathroom or shower rooms. We have also beautifully refurbished our new Executive Lodge, Milton Lodge, which contains 4 en suite bath or shower rooms.
Our excellent restaurant offers delicious food prepared by a highly skilled team of local chefs, using local seasonal fresh produce. You can look forward to freshly local seafood, including halibut, scallops, lobster or langoustines. We also offer locally sourced meat, such as beef, lamb, venison and pork. After a delightful gastronomic experience, unwind with an after-dinner coffee and some homemade petit fours in the newly renovated library.
Both Caithness and the Scottish Highlands are full of some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country and offer opportunities for shooting, hiking, horse riding, walking and fishing. Great attractions to visit include Clynelish Distillery, Dunrobin Castle, Garden and Museum & Black Rock Gorge.
