The Wensleydale Experience offers fabulous glamping accommodation in Swinithwaite, perfect for a magical getaway in the country. Based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales near Leyburn, they offer a truly special place for wonderful family-run tours and experiences.
This is a truly unique experience, offering stunning glamping accommodation and fascinating farm experiences onsite. You can stay in one of the gorgeous yurts which offer some of Yorkshires most amazing countryside views. You can wake up to the glorious sunrise or dine al fresco whilst savouring the majestic sunset, perfect for an unforgettable getaway. All the yurts come with luxurious hot tubs to soak your troubles away in and include a gas BBQ, dining table, loo and shower. All bedding is included.
Larch Yurt: This charming yurt is nestled away in the left end of the site and offers the most private space.
Elder Yurt: This fantastic yurt offers outstanding views across the Dales.
Rowan Yurt:This secluded yurt is based at the east of the wood and offers glorious views across Wensleydale to Bolton Castle.
Hazel Yurt: This gorgeous yurt boasts a private enclosure and includes amazing views up Pen Hill.
Oak Yurt: This superb yurt offers 360 views of Wensleydale and is based to the West End of the wood.
Beech Yurt: This excellent yurt is tucked away at the foot of the forest, surrounded by lush young trees and plants.
You can also enjoy a memorable stay in the magnificent 18th-Century Grade II Listed folly. The folly includes two octagonal rooms connected by a stone staircase and an outside balcony. Inside there is an open plan kitchen, sitting and dining area, plus a shower room and WC. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and outside there is wood fired hot tub, fire pit, table and chairs. The temple offers outstanding views across Wensleydale to Bolton Castle.
The whole family can enjoy the farm tours and experiences, educating visitors in an authentic way about where their food comes from. You’ll also be about to meet our sheep, lamb, pig, goat, pony, calf, cow or rabbits. Complementary therapy treatments are also available onsite, the perfect way to feel rejuvenated. While staying with us enjoy a tasty meal at our on-site café which offers breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.
The local area has lots of amazing scenery to see, including the multi-drop waterfall on the River Ure or the outstanding Aysgarth Falls. Visit ancient Bolton Castle or see the unique labyrinth of tunnels at the Forbidden Corner.
