Smailholm Mains - Cragg's Cottage offers superb self catering accommodation in Kelso. Based in Roxburghshire in a tranquil area of the Scottish Borders, this is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.

The cosy cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Rustle ups some delicious dishes in the well-equipped kitchen which features a Raeburn cooker, oven, electric hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster and modern radio.

Unwind in the cosy lounge after a busy day sightseeing. Facilities include satellite television, DVD, books and games. A bathroom comes with a shower over bath and downstairs there is also one single bedroom.

Upstairs you will find one super king-size bedroom and one twin bedroom with your bed linen and towels supplied, cot available upon request. The super king room can be made into a twin on request.

Outside there is an enclosed garden with garden furniture for al fresco dining when the sun is shining. A BBQ is available upon request.

Smailholm Tower is within walking distance to see where Sir Walter Scott spent his childhood, a lovely walk along the backcountry roads. Mellerstain House, Scott’s View, Wallace’s Statue and Dryburgh, Melrose, and Kelso Abbeys are a few of the places which are only a short drive away. The nearby market town of Kelso has a picturesque cobbled market square that boasts the abbey. Visit to the Garden Centres. Floors Castle the largest inhabited castle in Scotland is situated overlooking the river Tweed at Kelso and is open to the public March-October, with a lovely garden centre and tearoom.
