Cosy Shepherds Huts!
Lucker Mill House offers a unique shepherd's hut accommodation experience near the renowned Northumberland coast. Designed as an escape from the daily grind, these huts provide a simpler way of living but with comforts far surpassing that of a typical camping tent. Situated within the grounds, these handcrafted timber shepherd’s huts offer a charming alternative to our established B&B setup.
Woodman’s Hut & Shepherd’s Hut
Each hut features a cosy double bed prepared with duvets and pillows, a wood burner stove supplied with enough wood and coal for at least two nights (additional supplies available for purchase) and comes equipped with bathrobes and towels. These huts embrace a rustic charm with no electricity, illuminated instead by tealight lanterns and torchlight. Guests can enjoy coffee on the balcony in the morning and relax with a drink as the sun sets, later admiring the starlit sky amidst the sounds of rural wildlife. Set against the backdrop of south-facing pasture fields, these huts offer privacy and a tranquil environment.
A short walk from the huts, a shared kitchen/shower block provides a walk-in shower, toilet, washing facilities and a kitchen area equipped with cups, glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery, kettle, fridge, microwave, washing machine, drying rack and electric sockets.
Fisherman's Hut
Similar to the other huts, this one includes a comfortable, ready-made double bed, a wood burner stove and the same generous provision of wood, coal, bathrobes, and towels. Unlike the others, this hut benefits from electricity, with bedside lights and tea lights enhancing the ambience. It also features an en-suite shower facility, making it a bit more convenient for those preferring a more connected stay. Guests are welcome to use the fire pit in the evenings, with extra wood available for purchase. A gas barbecue is also at guests’ disposal for outdoor dining experiences.
Just a short walk away, The Apple Inn offers delightful evening meals.
This accommodation is also conveniently located near the majestic Bamburgh Castle and other historic sites, including St Cuthbert's Cave, The Alnwick Garden, Alnwick Castle, Belford Hall, and the Belford Hidden History Museum, making it an ideal base for exploring the historical richness of Northumberland.
