Set within a small farm, Ardoran Marine features three charming cottages – Heron, Seal and Otter – each offering lovely views and a private mooring boat free of charge. Guests are also welcome to bring their own small boat by prior arrangement. The marina, which has been recently extended, offers 50 moorings during the summer months, while five acres of surrounding woodland provide opportunities for bird watching and leisurely walks.
Each cottage is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a well-appointed kitchen with a microwave oven, full-size cooker and fridge/freezer. Additional amenities include a smart TV, with cots and high chairs available on request. A shared laundry block provides washing and drying facilities, operated via a metered system.
Heron Cottage sleeps four guests, featuring one double room and one twin room that share a bathroom with a shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. The cottage offers lovely views across the moorings, pier and pontoon, with underfloor heating and a private patio area – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
Seal Cottage accommodates up to six guests across two double rooms (one of which can be arranged as a twin) and one twin room. The bedrooms share a main bathroom with shower, WC and wash basin, and there is an additional WC for convenience. Outside, a patio with seating provides a peaceful space to admire views of the loch.
Otter Cottage is designed with two double en suite bedrooms, making it ideal for couples travelling together. One en suite features a shower and WC, while the other includes a shower over the bath. The open-plan kitchen and living area lead out to a secluded patio, offering fabulous lochside views and a relaxed, private atmosphere.
Just a 10-minute drive from the cottages, the lively town of Oban offers a wealth of attractions and activities. Known as the seafood capital of Scotland, it boasts excellent restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as museums and cultural sites. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy walking, cycling, sailing, diving and kayaking, while notable landmarks such as the Oban Distillery and McCaig’s Tower & Battery Hill are well worth a visit.
