Set within spacious landscaped gardens and only a short walk from the centre of Fort William, St Andrews House is a beautifully restored property that now offers two luxurious homestays. Part of Black Sheep Hotels, the house enjoys sweeping views over Loch Linnhe, providing a truly spectacular setting. Each of the two wings has been thoughtfully designed to offer both comfort and style, featuring large living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchens, and generously sized en-suite bedrooms. Private leisure facilities, including a sauna and Jacuzzi, allow guests to relax and unwind after a day exploring the dramatic scenery of the Scottish Highlands. Whether guests are drawn to the elegant former schoolhouse or the warm character of the original rectory, St Andrews House provides a perfect balance of heritage and modern luxury.

The East Wing retains much of its 1880s charm, once serving as the home of the rector and his household. The original solid stone walls and rare Canadian pitch pine have been carefully preserved, giving the space a timeless and welcoming atmosphere. The wing includes four large bedrooms, with a mix of super-king, double and single beds. One double bedroom and a shared bathroom are located on the ground floor, while three en-suite rooms can be found upstairs. Guests can enjoy far-reaching views of Loch Linnhe, the Highlands, and Fort William, along with a spacious dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a laundry room. This wing is also pet-friendly and features an elevated outdoor Jacuzzi and a private recreation room with board games, table tennis, and a sauna, offering the ideal blend of traditional charm and contemporary comfort.

The West Wing occupies what was once the school section of the building. Its grand entrance hall, original tiled floors, and decorative windows reflect its historic character, while tall ceilings, restored fireplaces, and exposed pitch pine beams enhance its sense of space and warmth. One original fireplace even bears the inscription “Gloria in Excelsis,” a reminder of the property’s past. With rustic Highland charm and modern amenities, the West Wing offers a spacious retreat well suited to families or groups. The ground floor features a large living and dining area with views of the gardens and the loch, along with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Upstairs, three large en-suite bedrooms include a combination of super-king and double beds. Stained glass windows, carved sandstone, and granite details lend a subtle cathedral-like beauty. Guests also have access to a private recreation room complete with games and an indoor Jacuzzi, sauna, and shower, creating a relaxing space to unwind.

The surrounding area offers some of the most remarkable scenery in the Scottish Highlands. With its mountains, lochs, and woodlands, Fort William is an excellent base for exploring the natural and cultural attractions of the region. Visitors can enjoy walking, climbing, and wildlife watching, or discover the area’s rich history through its castles and heritage sites. St Andrews House provides an exceptional retreat where guests can enjoy both the tranquillity of the Highlands and the charm of traditional Scottish hospitality.
