The two apartments can also be combined to sleep up to eighteen guests, providing the added benefit of access to the historic grounds of Alvie House. Easter Delfour Farmhouse is a Victorian cottage sleeping up to four guests in one double and one twin room. The property includes all essential bed linen, a bathroom with shower over bath, and a cosy sitting room equipped with a television and DVD player. The kitchen features an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside, a wraparound garden with a picnic bench provides a peaceful spot to relax.
The North Wing apartment sleeps eight guests and includes one double room, two twin rooms and two single rooms. Two bathrooms each offer a shower over the bath. A fully equipped kitchen with an electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and breakfast area is complemented by a comfortable sitting room with an open fire, television, Wi-Fi, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker.
The Top Flat accommodates up to ten people in five twin bedrooms. Two bathrooms, including ones with traditional roll-top baths, offer character and comfort. The kitchen includes all necessary appliances, while a spacious lounge with open fire, television, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker provides an inviting space to unwind.
Guests have easy access to a wide range of outdoor activities. The estate is bordered by the Speyside Way, offering excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Wildlife is a constant presence, with red deer and red squirrels frequently spotted throughout the year. Winter photography sessions give guests a chance to capture this wildlife up close. Additional activities include clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, archery, fishing, estate and farm tours, zip trekking, quad treks, paintballing and survival courses.
The estate itself incorporates a working hill farm with sheep and Shorthorn cattle, as well as native pinewoods, heather moorland, forestry operations producing wood chip biofuel, and both rock and gravel quarries. During lambing or calving season, visitors may see young animals exploring the fields, adding to the estate’s rural charm.
Those interested in history will appreciate the Easter Delfour Stone Circle, a Bronze Age ‘Clava Cairn’ situated conveniently beside the main estate road. Its ancient stones contribute to the rich sense of place that characterises the estate.
With its central location, the estate offers straightforward access to a range of Highland attractions. The Highland Wildlife Park, Highland Folk Museum, Ruthven Barracks, Kingussie Golf Course, Kinrara Distillery, Rothiemurchus Estate, Cairngorm Mountain and RSPB Insh Marshes can all be reached within half an hour. Further afield, the A9 provides direct routes to destinations such as Brodie Castle, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Inverness, making Alvie and Dalraddy Estates a convenient and engaging base for exploring the Highlands.
