There are four pods available: Highmoor, Corn Cake, Tarnities and The Roans. Each pod sleeps up to six people in a double bed, twin beds and two bunk beds, making them well suited to couples, families or small groups. Quality bedding and towels are provided, and each pod includes a modern bathroom with a power shower for added comfort after a day exploring the area.
Inside, the pods are designed to offer a cosy yet practical living space. Facilities include underfloor heating, a Smart Freeview TV, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hob, toaster, crockery and utensils, along with a dining table and six chairs. This thoughtful setup allows guests to enjoy relaxed self-catering stays in all seasons, with everything needed close at hand.
Each pod also benefits from its own outdoor space, with a picnic table and barbecue for al fresco dining while taking in the surrounding countryside. A luxurious hot tub provides the opportunity to soak and relax in the fresh air, adding a touch of indulgence to the glamping experience.
Castle Guards Farm Retreat is well placed for exploring both the Lake District and the Cumbrian coast. The site sits at the start of National Cycle Route 10, which runs from Cockermouth to North Shields via Kielder Forest and Carlisle, making it an excellent base for cyclists as well as walkers and sightseers. With its combination of comfortable facilities, rural seclusion and easy access to the wider region, the retreat offers a welcoming base for a memorable glamping break.
