Middle Coombe Farm combines historic charm with modern comfort, offering generous living and entertaining spaces that make it ideal for groups. The extensive gardens and grounds create a tranquil environment for outdoor relaxation, while facilities such as the swimming pool, hot tub and games room ensure that guests of all ages are well catered for.
The Farmhouse sleeps up to 15 guests and is rich in period detail. Its large kitchen-diner, with a table seating everyone together, is perfect for group meals, and the modern range makes catering for larger parties easy. The Jacobean drawing room, complete with wood panelling, an oak-framed window overlooking the garden and a roaring open fire, offers a welcoming space to unwind. The adjoining library doubles as a music and playroom, featuring a piano, television, WiFi and a selection of games and toys. Seven individually styled bedrooms, three of which are en suite, provide both comfort and flexibility, with twin beds that can be converted into doubles and additional beds available in two rooms.
Allensdown Barn, situated beside the farmhouse, has been recently restored to offer accommodation for up to seven guests. The barn includes a spacious kitchen, two bathrooms and a comfortable living area with a play space and television. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, each with a double and single bed sharing a family bathroom, while a smaller double room on the ground floor benefits from its own en suite. The barn is an ideal choice for families or smaller groups who wish to enjoy a little extra privacy while remaining close to the main farmhouse.
The estate’s outdoor spaces are among its greatest attractions. Guests can explore acres of woodland and farmland, stroll through colourful gardens or relax in the sheltered front garden with a book. From May to September, the solar-heated outdoor swimming pool provides the perfect spot to cool off, while the eco hot tub, seating up to eight people, is available throughout the year. The pool and hot tub are set in a private, hedged garden with a changing house and outdoor showers, and the sunken pool garden offers a peaceful retreat on warm days.
For recreation, the Cider Barn provides a flexible indoor space that can serve as a games room or venue for group activities, complete with a pool table, table tennis and table football. Outside, there are plenty of opportunities for adventure, from forest trails and swings to a trampoline and willow dome. The central courtyard offers an inviting setting for alfresco dining, barbecues and evenings around the fire, where guests can share stories and enjoy the clear night skies.
The surrounding area offers a wealth of attractions to explore, including Tiverton Castle, Knightshayes Court, the Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life, Tiverton Canal Co. with its horse-drawn barge, and Coldharbour Mill.
