Inside, the open-plan sitting and dining room feels bright and spacious and flows into a galley-style kitchen fitted with units, an electric hob and fan oven, a fridge with a small freezer compartment and a good selection of utensils and crockery. The traditional main sitting room retains many original features, including a Cornish slate inglenook fireplace with clome oven, a beamed ceiling and a stable door, all of which add to the cottage’s historic character.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one furnished with a double bed and the other with twin beds, with an additional guest bed available if required. Bed linen and towels are supplied weekly, and hot water and storage heating are included. The tiled bathroom features a modern shower cubicle with an electric shower, along with a hand basin and toilet.
Outside, a secluded patio overlooks the lovely garden, which sits in an elevated position and enjoys open countryside views. The garden includes a small orchard and a variety of shrubs, attracting plenty of birdlife and creating a peaceful place to relax. Access to the cottage is via steps at both the front and rear private entrances, and guests have use of a parking space and a lock-up garage.
Crantock is ideally placed for exploring some of Cornwall’s most beautiful coastal scenery. The wide sandy beach at Crantock and the peaceful Gannel Estuary are perfect for walking, swimming and wildlife spotting, with dunes and tidal creeks to discover. Just a short drive away, Newquay offers famous surf beaches, coastal paths and family attractions, while the cathedral city of Truro provides a mix of shopping, history and culture. Along this stretch of coastline, visitors will also find charming fishing villages, dramatic cliff-top walks and hidden coves, making it an excellent area for both relaxation and adventure.
