Inside, there is a full-size double bed with a sprung mattress and goose down duvet, along with under-bed storage to make good use of the available space. A wood-burning stove provides warmth on cooler evenings, with a small electric heater also available.
For entertainment, guests will find a selection of books, magazines, board games and card games, as well as a DAB radio. Blankets are provided for relaxing beside the stove or sitting outside around the fire pit.
A breakfast basket is ready for guests on arrival. Breakfast can be enjoyed inside using the vintage fold-out table and chairs or, when the weather allows, outside at the picnic bench. During spring and summer, guests also have access to a private raised deck overlooking the field and village. Originally built as a tree house, it now provides another outdoor space for breakfast, morning coffee or an evening drink.
Outside the hut is a fire pit for evenings under the stars, along with a separate seating area and BBQ to the rear. Guests wishing to use the BBQ need to bring their own fuel. There are also several places to eat within walking distance or a short drive.
A separate heated shower and utility room is located around 30 metres from the hut, beside the main house. It is reached via a short flight of stone steps and includes an electric shower, toilet, washbasin, heated towel rail and towels.
The utility area also provides a fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery, with tea, coffee and milk supplied. With breakfast included, private outdoor areas and plenty of opportunities to switch off, Plankbridge Shepherds Hut B&B provides a comfortable base for a break for two in the Peak District.
