The Hope & Anchor is a former 17th century coaching inn. Like many of the inns and pubs in the area it was constructed from former ship’s timber, you can even see some of the sailors initials carved into some of the timbers in the pub!
It is a traditional pub with a warm atmosphere and a
large garden incorporating a heated smoking shelter and an Aunt Sally pitch.
There are three lovely double en-suite letting rooms, all
furnished in a contemporary style, with flatscreen TV and tea/coffee making
facilities.
The Hope & Anchor is located approximately 2 minutes
walk from the train station. It can be found at the top of Station Road,
directly opposite the Wokingham Borough Council offices.
