The
Pembridge, Great Malvern, Worcestershire
Welcome
to the Pembridge, a friendly family-run Guest House providing accommodation
ideally situated in the heart of Great Malvern.
Located
within easy walking distance of the town centre, theatre and the hills, The
Pembridge offers 8 double/twin bedrooms in this sympathetically restored
Victorian mansion (built 1868).
Malvern,
thought to be from the Celtic ‘Moel-Bryn’, meaning ‘bare hill’, is renowned for
the Malvern Hills, an eight-mile ridge formed 600 Million years ago and rising
to 1,395 feet at the 'Worcester Beacon'.
The
British Camp, or Herefordshire Beacon, 1115 feet, is one of the finest
earthworks in Britain, built about second century BC.
Malvern
is, of course, famous as the source of the pure spring water that led to its
pre-eminence (and elegence) as a Victorian Spa town.
The
Malvern Theatre Complex comprises the 800-seater Festival and Forum Theatres
and a 400-seat Cinema. The Theatre complex is only a few minutes’ walk from the
Pembridge Hotel along a fairly flat road.
