The Barn, Brithdir, Dolgellau, Gwynedd

Located on the outskirts of the village of Brithdir, 2 miles from the historic market town of Dolgellau, the barn offers self catering accommodation filled with charm and character.

'The Barn' is converted from a stone built cattle barn. It is not overlooked by the farm house and has wide views to the Aran and Rhinog mountains.

Bala Lake (15m) is a popular canoeing, dinghy sailing and windsurfing centre. Bala is a pretty town, its wide main street having a variety of architectural styles, good shops, cafes and pubs. In particular Bala is home to the best sausages in the UK.

The Barn is close to Coed y Brenin, which was the first forest to be developed for the sport of mountain biking and to this day retains its reputation as the sports premier location. A range of routes suitable for everyone from families and novices to rocky technical trails for expert riders radiate out from our stunning state of the art eco visitor centre.

Other local points of interest include the Narrow Guage Railways at Ffestiniog, Bala Lake, Fairbourne and Talyllyn, Golf courses at Dolgellau, Machynlletch, Bala, Ffestiniog, Harlech & Aberdovey, all within a short drive, 10 miles from the sea for a good beach and boat fishing, Game and coarse fishing in nearby Mawddach and Wnion Rivers, on Llyn Cynwch, Llyn Gwernan & Talyllyn, and Just four miles from the peak of Cader Idris.
