The Granary, Flatford, Manningtree, Colchester, Essex
The Granary was once owned by John Constable's father and has been
lovingly restored from an old wool store that was built C1740.
Since then, the building has been a granary, steam mill and a macaroni
factory. It has now been converted to a bed and breakfast with separate living
accommodation.
We have two rooms available, The Millers and The Locke room. The Locke
room is a bigger family room with a double and two single beds. The Millers
room is cosier with a double bed and one single bed. Both rooms have a en suite
private shower and a door that opens out onto our private garden.
The river Stour runs parallel to the garden and has beautiful scenic
views in all directions.
Our two B&B units are completely separate from the main building and
each have your own front door.
What better way to appreciate the charm and beauty of constable country
than to come and experience Flatford, at our bed and breakfast. The villages of
Dedham and East Bergholt are within walking and driving distance and offer a
wide range of pubs and restaurants.
You can enquire or book direct with the owners via our website and view
any special offers they currently have. Click on the More Information on any of
the establishments to view their full details.
