Dalegarth House has been open as a bed and breakfast since 1993. Lesley,
Philip and Simon would like to welcome you into our home. In the time that we
have been established we have had many genuinely satisfied visitors.
Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes are market towns and have many shops for you
to browse around. All of them hold an outdoor market on set days. Darlington is
the nearest large town 29 miles away, which has both bus and train stations.
The nearest airport is Durham Tees Valley 35 miles away.
Gunnerside is set in the beautiful steep sided valley of Swaledale. The
village is small and unspoilt. You will see fine examples of dry stonewalling
and barns for which Swaledale is famous. You have access to numerous sporting
activities, hill walking, mountain biking, pony trekking, fishing, climbing,
pot holing and cycling.
If you don’t feel so energetic, a drive in the car can take you to many
lovely villages with local craft shops and traditional pubs. One of them being
Tan Hill the highest Inn in England.
