‘Severnhaven’
is a cosy modern detached chalet style bungalow 80 metres from River Severn in
the village of Highley, Shropshire.
Set
in a lovely elevated position within a designated area of outstanding natural
beauty with picturesque views overlooking the Severn Valley.
It
is the perfect venue for fishing and this area of the River Severn is
particularly renowned for its barbel. There are numerous nature trails and
walks within the area as well as cycle trails - the route 45 cycle trail passes
through Highley.
There
is a heated outdoor swimming pool in the village which is open from June to
September. The Ship Inn is within 5 minutes walking distance where you can
enjoy a drink on the terrace overlooking the river. They have a great menu
available and a Sunday carvery.
Nearby
is the popular Severn Valley Steam Railway with its interesting Engine House
Visitor and Education Centre. The Severn Valley Country Park and Visitor Centre
is also nearby. You can follow the Highley Trail to "discover a world of
wild rivers, big views, fantastic wildlife and giant industry. This wonderful
walk will take you up and down hills, over the River Severn, through woodlands
and into Highley village".
