Cotswold history on the outskirts of the hamlet of Saintbury. Only 3 miles from Chipping Campden or Broadway. Built in 1590 and Grade II Listed by English Heritage, Orchard Cottage is on three floors, retaining a wealth of historical features including flagstone floors, elm beams, stairs and floors and not forgetting the lovely inglenook fireplace. Watch for the low beams and doorways!
The cottage is heated by night storage heaters in addition to the glowing warmth from the log fire. The garden surrounds the cottage on three sides , with lovely views of sheep grazing in the fields nearby.
The cottage is set in its own garden with rose beds and lawn to the front and lawns to the side and rear. Directly outside the door from the kitchen is a patio area with a wooden garden table and chairs. There is also a barbecue.
SAINTBURY - a dreaming Cotswold hamlet, pure England. Orchard Cottage is situated at the bottom of Saintbury hill. At the top is the Dormy House Hotel which reopens in August 2013. Also at the top is Broadway Golf Club. Willersey is only one mile away and comes complete with village green, duck pond, two pubs which offer food, two village shops which also sell newspapers.
