Drochil Castle Farmhouse is a 1200 acre grassland farm with cattle and sheep providing bed and breakfast accommodation located just outside the village of West Linton which is 7 miles from Peebleshire, Scottish Borders.
Behind the farmhouse tower the massive ruins of Drochil Castle which was built for the Regent of Scotland and was not finished before his execution in 1581. It stands today incomplete and never occupied in over 400 years.
All of the guest bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities, radio/alarm clock and electric blankets. All linen and towels are provided. As a member of the green tourism scheme we try to minimise energy and water consumption without compromising your comfort.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory where the spectacular panoramic view of the valley and surrounding farmland will captivate you. Breakfast is a real treat made with fresh and delicious local produce.
The bed and breakfast is ideally placed for touring the scenic and historic Scottish Border country with its delightful towns especially Peebles, Melrose & Kelso where charming architecture, lovely one off shops and excellent eateries are all well worth the trip. We are also well situated for Dawkye Botanic Gardens and the Kalzie Gardens.
Alternatively the festival city of Edinburgh is only 25 miles and there is a handy park and ride on the outskirts of the town to whiz you into the centre.
