Westerclose House Cottages in Somerset are situated in the very heart of Exmoor National Park.We have four self catering cottages and one apartment which sleep between 2 and 6 people. Children, well behaved dogs and other small pets are all welcome! Westerclose is in a glorious elevated position on the edge of the unspoilt village of Withypool with wonderful views over the wooded River Barle valley and surrounding moorland.
Each cottage is comfortably furnished with everything you need for a well deserved and relaxing holiday, including its own private garden, parking outside the front door and log burners for those chillier evenings. There is also broadband internet access so you can post your Exmoor photos online for your friends to enjoy back home!
We welcome dogs although as we have free range chickens and ducks, we do ask that dogs are kept on a lead whilst walking to/from your cottage. The cottages and the apartment all have access to the grassy areas at the rear of the cottages and into Kitridge Lane where you can easily exercise your dog.
Resident owners Julian & Polly Soltau offer a top quality, non intrusive service to all their visitors, including a transport service for walkers. With walking direct from your front door and a host of other activities to enjoy, Westerclose is an ideal base for exploring Exmoor and the spectacular North Devon coast.
We have twin bed en suite bedrooms available in Westerclose House with completely separate outside access which you can rent in addition to your cottage or apartment. This may suit guests holidaying in Heather View, Nethergate or Pennycombe cottages who have other friends or family joining them on holiday. These are twin bedded rooms, all with en suite bathroom, TV/radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Do contact us should this be of interest.
The cottages are within walking distance (300 yards) of the excellent Royal Oak pub, the village shop and post office, tea rooms and the historic St. Andrew's church. The shop has a good range of provisions (including fresh meat and dairy produce, wine, beer, newspapers) which can be ordered in advance of your holiday for delivery on the day you arrive.
