5 Coastal Holiday Destinations Around the UK
Summer is
with us, what better way to spend the day than relaxing on a beach, soaking up
the sun, listening to the sound of waves splashing on the shore, kids playing
happily and the taste of salty, sea air.
Take a look
at a few of our ideas for a summer, seaside staycation.
1. Padstow,
Cornwall. Padstow is North Cornwall’s principle fishing town. There are several
pretty beaches to explore and harbours packed with boats, some of which offer
cruises around the coast. Padstow is also popular for its restaurants including
celebrity chef Rick Steins seafood restaurants.
2. Weymouth, Dorset. Weymouth is famous for its safe, sandy beaches and beautiful
blue sea. It is a fantastic destination for a family holiday with something to
keep all ages amused, from donkey rides to amusements and pubs and restaurants
to attractions such as sea life centres and ancients forts.
3. Tenby,
Pembrokeshire. There are three beautiful, blue flag beaches just waiting to be
explored here. You can enjoy numerous coastal walks during your stay. Tenby’s
Welsh name is Dinbych-y-Pysgod which means ‘Little Fortress of the Fish’.
4. Whitstable, Kent. Whitstable has been famous for its oysters since Roman times.
The Oyster Festival in the last two weeks of July is an annual highlight here.
Enjoy stunning coastal walks during your stay here.
5. Gardenstown, Aberdeenshire. This peaceful, secluded location is perfect for a
relaxing break. Gardenstown is a pretty fishing village with stone cottages
huddled around a beautiful bay.
