Staddles Holiday Cottage, Lavenham, Sudbury, Suffolk
Staddles Holiday Cottage is located in the heart of the pretty Suffolk village of Lavenham. Our holiday cottage is also just a short drive from the bustling market town of Sudbury, making our 15th Century cottage the perfect base from which to explore the local area.
Our holiday cottage now comprises a beamed sitting room with Inglenook fireplace and original Suffolk brick floor. There is underfloor heating and a gas ‘coal burning’ effect stove (with remote control).
French doors lead to a secluded garden with an apple tree and flower borders and ample space for outdoor dining and summer barbecues.
Lavenham is an historic medieval village boasting over 340 listed buildings. Lavenham has a long and colourful history, featuring at different times: Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford one of those proposed as the "real" Shakespeare; Louis Napoleon in the 19th Century and the 487th Bomb group (H) of the United States Air Force from 1944 to 1945. It has a variety of shops, including a pharmacy, butcher (renown for local sausages and game). A hairdresser, two beauty shops, Co-op, general store and Faiers family run bakers.
