Cartomie is a modern bungalow in a rural setting close to the scenic Dornoch Firth at Catomie near Edderton & Tain in Ross-shire.
There are 2 guest bedrooms which consist of 1 double with en suite shower and one king size/twin with en suite bath/shower. Both guest rooms are equipped with hairdryer, television and tea and coffee making facilities. You can enjoy breakfast in the conservatory with lovely panoramic views of Struie Hill.
The historic Edderton Old Church has a preaching ark and Pictish stone in the churchyard. There is another Pictish stone in the centre of the village. These stones are part of the Pictish Trail, which winds its way through this part of the coast. More stones can be seen on the Fearn Peninsula and at the Tarbet Discovery Center.
Nearby, 9 miles, is Dornoch, with its famous golf course and Cathedral and the historic Royal Burgh of Tain is 5 miles away with a choice of places to eat. We are well positioned for visiting the coastal villages such as Portmahomack, Golspie and Brora and the lovely beaches of Dornoch and Embo are just a short drive away. The whole area is good for wildlife. National Nature Reserve of Loch Fleet is popular for its birds and seals. Channonery point with the possibilities of Dolphins is on the Black Isle.
We are in a good position for visiting the north and west coasts, which are approximately 2 hours away. Inverness is 1 hours drive to the south.
