The Dovecot, Wooler, Northumberland
The Dovecot, Wooler, Northumberland
The Dovecot is a beautifully converted farm building, nestled on a working farm at Wooler in Northumberland. From the farm, guests can enjoy lovely views of the surrounding Glendale Valley and the Cheviot Hills. For those who love being in the great outdoors, we are a perfect location. Numerous walks are available from the front door of the cottage and many attractions can be reached within comfortable driving distance. Northumberland’s Heritage Coast and the Scottish borders are only half an hour’s drive.
Perfect for a group of family & friends, The Dovecot provides comfortable, homely and well-appointed accommodation for up to 8 people.
During late spring and summer, The Dovecot is home to a bat maternity roost. The mammals are private animals who will not cause upset to our guests, but they make a bit of noise above one of the bedrooms at dusk and dawn when they exit and re-enter the roost.
Guests have access to a shared tennis court and there is a private, enclosed garden that is perfect for children and dogs.
The farm is on the very edge of the Northumberland National Park with mile upon mile of well-marked routes through some of the most unspoilt countryside in England. A walk in the Cheviot Hills provides an opportunity of experiencing true wilderness where you are more likely to encounter a herd of wild goats than another person! Nearby walks to Linhope Spout and Routin Linn provide walks in beautiful scenery with fantastic waterfall side picnic spots at the end.
