A Romantic Retreat on the Edge of the New Forest

Alderholt Mill is located at the edge of the New Forest and is a lovely retreat for those who are looking to escape the everyday pressures from modern living. Their holiday accommodation is set in a great location for those who want to explore both Dorset and West Hampshire. They are in easy reach of the south coast, just a short drive from Bournemouth and Poole.

The mill is situated on an island formed by the River Allen, a small tributary that joins the River Avon at the nearby town of Fordingbridge. There are 2 self catering holiday homes at the mill, both of which are comfortably furnished throughout.

Mid-Mill - Sleeps 2 : This is a ground floor apartment. It is the link building between the old Mill and the main house. There is a double bedroom with double/twin beds. This room has a large picture window and looks out over the rear garden with its pond and water meadow beyond. The kitchen is galley style and equipped with electric cooker, fridge with icebox and a microwave, all necessary crockery and cutlery. From this room there is direct access into the rear garden via a little bridge over the Mill tailrace with the 12ft waterwheel immediately on the left. The sitting room has a fireplace with electric fire and is comfortably furnished with easy chairs and a dining area.

Miller's End - Sleeps 2 : This is a ground floor apartment and offers one double bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower over bath) a delightful sitting room with a large fireplace and log burning stove (electric). This room is comfortably furnished to a high standard. A smartly fitted kitchen/breakfast room with microwave, fridge/freezer electric cooker and all the usual and necessary equipment. There is a wealth of original oak beams throughout giving a really olde world and cosy feel to the property.
