Byre Cottages are situated right at the heart of the South Downs at Storrington in West Sussex. The cottages form a courtyard, around a shared lawn, with one of the largest 17th-century Tithe barns in Sussex. Overlooking the old farmyard is the impressive stone-built Grade II listed farmhouse mentioned as part of the manor of Sillingstone in the Domesday Book of 1086. The lovely Saxon church of the parish of Sullington can be found amongst the various barns and buildings of Sullington Manor Farm.
Byre Cottages are self-contained, single-storey cottages. Each cottage has a combination boiler to provide central heating and hot water on demand, a gas cooker, TV, DVD, microwave cooker and fridge/freezer. Bed linen and towels are provided, if you prefer to bring your own linen a small deduction is made from the rental price. Fuel costs are included from May - September. There is a communal laundry room with washing machines, tumble dryers (operate with 50p), ironing facilities, additional barbeque, garden furniture and a payphone.
Good-sized, outdoor heated swimming pool, open during the summer months, newly resurfaced tennis court and table tennis table are available throughout your stay. Guests staying in our idyllic country cottages can enjoy many footpaths and walks on the farm including the South Downs Way. If you are looking for a holiday place to enjoy (rather than just sleep) then these lovely self-catering country cottages are ideal.
Sullington is ideally situated for easy access to the whole of Sussex. Sussex has a great deal to offer visitors. The varied coastline, including the Regency glory of Brighton and the sandy beaches of West Wittering, is only 30 – 45 mins drive away from the farm. The nearby towns of Brighton, Chichester, Arundel and Lewes, provide many historic sites, houses and castles. In addition, Sussex boasts widely acclaimed gardens and attractions, many very pretty villages with hidden away crafts and popular pubs. Central London is less than 1½ hours, by train, from Pulborough.
