A charming holiday cottage on the edge of the Northumberland National Park!

Rose Cottage is a charming holiday cottage with stunning views across the Glendale Valley located in North Northumberland, close to the Scottish border. It is in the tiny hamlet of High Humbleton on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. You can walk the Cheviot Hills from the front door. Humbleton Hill, just up the road from the cottage, has a prehistoric hill fort and is the site of the battle of Homildon Hill 1402 mentioned in Shakespeare’s Henry IVth.

The holiday cottage is a charming and peaceful retreat that is ideal for couples or a family who are looking for a dog-friendly break away. Ideal for all ages, this holiday home is all on one level except for 4 steps up to the larger bedroom. It can sleep up to 4 people.

The cottage is ideally situated for all the attractions in the area with easy access to Alnwick, Berwick, Edinburgh, Newcastle, the Roman Wall and the Kielder Reservoir. The unmatched Heritage Coast with its huge empty beaches at Bamburgh, Embleton and Alnmouth is within easy reach. The unique nature reserve of Holy Island is just 12 miles away, with the castle and monastery and its connections to early English Christianity. The area is rich with English and Scottish castles, Norham, Dunstanburgh and Floors and the Border Abbeys of Kelso, Dryburgh and Melrose. There are opportunities locally for fishing, gliding, horse riding, cycling, hill climbing, bird watching and golf.
