The Punch Bowl Inn, Edmundbyers, Consett, Durham

The Punch Bowl Inn is situated in the quiet village of Edmundbyers in Durham. Within easy reach of Newcastle Airport, it is ideally placed for a quiet break or a simple stopover en route to or from Scotland or the Lakes. Hadrian’s Wall, award-winning Beamish Open Air Museum and World Heritage Site Durham Cathedral are just some of the area’s attractions.

The individually designed en suite rooms provide a comfy bed, a refreshing hot shower and a fantastic full English breakfast. Four-star accommodation from Visit Britain ensures you will enjoy a selection of high-quality rooms with either bath or bath & shower and the choice is yours!

Fishing can be arranged on the reservoir or on local fishing club waters which provide good sport for both brown and rainbow trout and good spots for grayling.

The inn is located close to the Coast to Coast walking/cycling route and can provide you with a traditional breakfast to get you on your way. Packed lunches are available too if you wish. The Derwent Sailing Club is also located nearby and some first-class Grouse and Pheasant shooting in the immediate area.
