Royal Oak Inn offers wonderful accommodation in Bongate, nestled on the edge of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Our 16th Century inn is perfect for exploring the medieval town of Appleby-in-Westmorland and visiting a range of great attractions in Cumbria.

Our charming inn retains many original features whilst providing modern accommodation to suit all your needs. Eight comfortable bedrooms are available, including single, double and family rooms. 

We are passionate about creating a true home-from-home experience and provided fantastic food and quality drinks in a lovely atmosphere. 

Appleby-in-Westmorland lies in a loop of the River Eden and is overlooked by the glorious Pennine range. You can wander around the beautiful countryside and stroll around the ancient streets in town. Brilliant attractions to visit include Eden Valley, Boroughgate and Appleby Castle.
