Heath Farm Cottages offers luxurious self catering holiday cottages just outside of Swerford near Chipping Norton. Set within the gorgeous Cotswolds, these lovingly converted farm buildings are set round a stunning paved courtyard that has its own water garden and adjoins the owners' house. These 5-award-winning, individual stone cottages offer guests the ultimate in comfort, quality and cleanliness and a chance to enjoy the high standards of craftsmanship which is the hallmark of this idyllic retreat.
All of the cottages have been finished to the highest standard, perfect for a magical holiday in a stunning location. All the furniture and fittings have been built by Cotswold craftsmen in English hardwood, whilst the floors are slate, terracotta or wood and soft furnishings are in natural materials. Two of the hot tubs, Chestnut and Walnut, both boast fabulous hot tubs. Perfect for soaking your troubles away.
While staying here you are welcome to make the most of the wonderful facilities. Wander around 70 acres of private woodland and flower Meadow, or unwind in the beautiful courtyard with elegant terraces, perfect for a glass of wine whilst listing to the sound of running water and birdsong. A small lake at the foot of the hill is great for wild water swimming, boating and rainbow trout fishing. Have lots of fun in the indoor games room or enjoy an array of outdoor activities on the game’s lawn.
Beechnut: Each room has its own unique and inviting character. Beneath the dovecote a weighty wooden door with wrought iron steel grille leads into the lobby. To the left is the bedroom with stone mullioned arched windows looking out onto the fields. A medieval-styled arched door and stone passageway lead past an unusual and spacious shower room down into the light and airy living area with fully equipped kitchen. A comfy sofa bed allows you to relax in front of the open fire. Whitewashed walls and terracotta floor tiles give a Spanish feel to this room with windows looking out onto the courtyard, where the morning sun streams in.
Chestnut: Chestnut, on the ground floor of the converted barn, is very spacious for two people. A small lobby leads into the oak kitchen. You then pass through beautiful solid ash double doors set in a wooden screen to reach the comfortable dining and living area. An unusual open fire, exposed joists and beams and African slate floor make this a most luxurious apartment. A large sofa bed allows two extra guests to be accommodated in comfort. Comfortable armchairs and elegant oak-framed French windows welcome you into the courtyard. The bedroom, through a curtained wooden archway has an en suite bathroom and features a window seat with a lovely view of the valley.
Hazelnut: The main door opens into a luxurious custom built kitchen. Through folding doors you enter the main living area with a round table and chairs, comfy sofa, rugs and open fire. A heavy curtain divides this from the peaceful sleeping area with its exquisite en suite bathroom, which is reached through a hidden door in the wooden panelling. Enjoy the high pitched ceilings, warm terracotta floor tiles, exposed beams and stone walls throughout this apartment, with stunning views out onto the courtyard and down into the valley below.
Walnut: The crowning glory, Walnut occupies the top floor of the converted barn. Sunlight floods into the vast living area through an entire gable of elegant oak windows overlooking the courtyard. Competing for attention is the massive stone fireplace with its chimney breast towering up to the pitched ceiling of the sleeping gallery above. This is reached up a solid elm staircase landing in front of a magnificent stone arched window giving glorious views down to the fish pond and across the picturesque valley. The spacious bathroom has a separate shower. Exposed stone walls, oak beams, wood panelling and polished elm floor combine with the comfortable seating to create a warm and luxurious ambience.
Cobnut: Cobnut completes this exclusive quintet of superb cottages. As with all the other cottages here, Cobnut has been finished to an unusually high standard, with attention to detail again to the fore. A spacious entrance veranda leads into the living room area with a beautiful solid elm floor, quality sofa and armchairs and open fire place. The windows afford stunning views across the valley and into the courtyard. To the right through a beautiful elm door is a small cloakroom with airing room and washing machine. The dining area has a large refectory table in solid elm which can seat up to 8 people.
