English Countryside Campsite!

Field Barn Park was created exclusively as an over 30s only site to provide visitors with a place to come and relax in the beautiful English countryside. The site lies in a small secluded fold of the Cotswold Hills, ideally suited to caravans, tents and motorhomes; while at the same time only a mile and a half from Bourton-on-the-Water near Cheltenham with all its amenities. It was carefully chosen to be away from roads, traffic, houses and streetlights and as a base from which to explore Gloucestershire.

The Cotswolds is a beautiful place to enjoy - so many interesting things to see and do; there are houses and gardens to visit, wildlife parks, hills with wonderful walks and views. Shops and cafes in Cirencester and Cheltenham are just a short 30-minute drive away. Beautiful Oxford is only an hour away with its historic colleges and spires; also from there, you can catch the fast bus link to London for a day trip.

Field Barn Park aims to offer a comfortable and peaceful site with good facilities and wonderful views over the rolling countryside. The site has over 400 recently planted trees and shrubs, the pitches are all grass but the access is by hard roads and the pitches are designed with motorhomes in mind. The site is situated in the fold of the hills, is on the free-draining ground, is sheltered from the prevailing wind and is heavenly when the sun shines.

All the generous pitches offer an electric hookup (10 amps) and mains tap water. There is a chemical loo disposal point with wash facility, an information hut with local attractions and maps, and a site freezer for picnic box blocks. Recent developments have extended the facilities to provide a wonderful under-floor heated shower and loo block and a heated laundry room including washing machines and ironing facilities alongside sinks for general washing-up.

There are many interesting places to visit in the local area, such as The Cotswold Farm Park with its many rare breeds, The Cotswold Wildlife Park outside Burford, Westonbirt Arboretum, the Roman Villa at Chedworth and the medieval wool churches of Chipping Campden, Northleach, Burford and Cirencester. The Civil War hilltop town of Stow on the Wold has a good collection of shops, cafes, inns and curio shops. There are golf courses at Naunton and Burford and trout farms at Donnington and Bibury.

Stratford upon Avon is an hour’s drive away. The area has National Trust properties and private gardens open to the public. There are wonderful walks and stunning countryside in every direction with great places to eat and enjoy the great outdoors.
