The Bay Horse Inn is a delightful 18th Century coaching inn by a stone bridge over the River Rede in West Woodburn. It is nestled in a beautiful part of Northumberland and a great place for a relaxing drink, delicious food or excellent accommodation.
When you have been out and about in the fresh country air and, when the excellent home-cooked cuisine and cosy surroundings of our lounge bar all begin to take effect, retire to one of our bedrooms. All bedrooms available at this pub are en suite. Each room is decorated individually in a delightful cottage style and facilities include a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, ironing facilities and a trouser press.
At The Bay Horse Inn, the menus offer an unusually wide and extensive range of dishes carefully prepared from the best local meats, fish and vegetables. Visitors are welcome to choose a tasty snack or to dine in style with a bottle of fine wine. For vegetarians and vegans, an interesting alternative selection is offered. Children have their own menu or may choose selected dishes from the main menus.
Diners can choose where they wish to eat, either in the comfortable bar on dining-size tables, or in the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. On a Sunday a fantastic carvery is offered. There is always a choice of at least 3 other roasts. Treat yourself to one of Hilda’s freshly prepared puddings legendary throughout the area.
The Bay Horse Inn sits by the River Rede in the quiet Northumberland village of West Woodburn. The Rede Valley and its surrounding area is known for its peace, tranquillity and wide-open spaces. Northumberland is England's most sparsely populated county, lying at the juncture of the Cheviot and Pennine Hills.
