Oddfellows Arms in Caldbeck offers wonderful accommodation, delicious Cumbrian dishes and a well-stocked bar. Based near Wigton, it is only stone’s throw from High Pike in the centre of the village.
There are a range of newly renovated rooms available, including king, twin, double and family rooms. Bedrooms come with en suite facilities or a private bathroom, a tea and coffee maker, toiletries and free Wi-Fi/internet. Newly refurbished bathrooms in all rooms.
The wonderful restaurant is housed in the converted barn and has seating for up to 70 people. They offer homecooked, simple food using the best local ingredients possible. Guests staying here can also enjoy a free breakfast.
The bar is open all day and boasts two separate areas. The cosy lower area is great for a pre-dinner drink and the other lounge area has a dart board and a pool table. A choice of locally brewed Jennings cask ales are served, including Cumberland ales and many guest ales. A variety of continental lagers and wines are also available.
Excellent attractions in the area include Isel Hall which is in a magical setting above the River Derwent and looks over an 11th Century church and Skiddaw. Keswick Golf Club is renowned for its superb facilities and Lakeland views.
