Camping & Touring in Dorset!
Birchwood Tourist Park is in a lovely part of Dorset and is a family-run campsite in a lovely part of Dorset. We welcome touring caravans, motorhomes, trailer-tents and tents, offering a place where the whole family is welcome. The park is only three miles from Wareham at Coldharbour and has direct access to Wareham Forest.
We have a range of pitch types available, to accommodate all guests. One pitch charge is allocated for one unit, one car and includes an awning (free) if applicable. Choose from one of our four pitch types, A, B, C & D then add each appropriate number of additions to the pitch charge. Additional charges depending on season include:
Adults (16 years and over).
Children (3 years to 15 years). Under 3-year-olds stay for free.
Dogs (all pets should be well-behaved and kept on a short lead).
Pup tent (maximum size 2m x 2m).
Gazebo, if space on the pitch and with prior arrangement only.
Extra car or visitor cars must be parked as directed.
Our pitches comprise of:
A: All year round serviced pitch including:
Water connection point.
TV connection socket (Freeview channels).
Electric 15/16amp hookup.
Sewerage/waste outlet.
This pitch is blocked paved hard standing, with a gravel area for an awning.
B: All year round, semi-serviced pitch including:
Water connection point.
TV connection socket (Freeview channels).
Electric 15/16 amp hook up.
Grass and paved hard standing pitches are available. Grass pitches are open from 1st March to 31st October and the paved hard standing pitches are open all year.
C: Grass or gravel electric pitch available from 31st October to 1st March including:
Electric 10 amp hook up point.
Suitable for caravans, motorcaravans, trailer tents and tents.
Maximum size of pitch 4.6 metres wide (15ft) and 6.7 metres (22ft) long.
D: Non electric grass pitch:
Maximum size of tents on any pitch 4.6 metres wide (15ft) and 6.7 metres (22ft) long.
Pitch fees are from noon on the day of arrival to 11 am on the day of departure. On-site there is a well-stocked shop with off licence, general groceries, sweets, ice cream, soft drinks, toys, Calor gas exchange and camping & caravanning supplies. In addition to this there is:
Free hot showers in the toilet/shower blocks which are heated in the winter.
Indoor & outdoor wash-up sinks.
Information and leaflets about the local area.
Children’s play area and sandpit.
Children’s paddling pool. This is open to the end of May to end of August and is unheated & unsupervised.
Pool table & table tennis table.
Games field.
Tennis, badminton and pitch-n-putt equipment are available for hire.
