Rural Getaway!

A warm welcome awaits you at Pardlestone Farm, a hidden Somerset gem offering both bed & breakfast accommodation and two self-catering cottages.

Tucked into the folds of the Quantock Hills – which inspired the poets, Samuel Taylor-Coleridge and William Wordsworth – the farmhouse and cottages make a perfect base for walkers, mountain bikers, nature-lovers and horse riders, who can explore the landscape considered to be the birthplace of Romantic poetry.

Unspoiled to this day, the Quantock Hills were England’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (designated in 1956) and boast abundant wildlife, deep-cut valleys, ancient woodland, sparkling streams and heather-clad heathland, all close to the spectacular cliffs and fossil-rich beaches of Somerset’s Jurassic coast.

Running just above Pardlestone Farm is the nationally important Coleridge Way, which leads all the way to Lynmouth in North Devon or links to the Two Moors Way and the South West Coast Path. For those who prefer a more leisurely ride, the West Somerset Steam Railway is the longest heritage line in England and offers breath-taking vistas from the Quantocks out to sea, and on towards Exmoor.

The farmhouse B&B has two en suite double bedrooms – the sumptuous Caturn’s with its six-foot Hypnos bed which can be split into singles, and the smaller Alfox Den, a cosy retreat. Adjoining the farmhouse is the self-catering Groom’s Cottage which sleeps four in two double bedrooms. And the Pony Barn, newly converted in 2023 – with vaulted ceiling, underfloor heating and stylish décor – is just across the yard. All facilities benefit from satellite wi-fi.

There’s stabling and turnout for horses and guests to the cottages are welcome to bring their dogs. Larger groups (up to 12) can book both house and cottages and mingle between the three units.

The properties are within walking distance of the village shop, award-winning pub, coastal tea gardens and Kilve Beach.Pardlestone Farm earned a coveted Travellers Choice Award in 2021 and 2022 and has exceptional reviews, which can be read on the Pardlestone Farm website, Facebook page and on Tripadvisor.
