Alum House Luxury Bed & Breakfast in Boulby offers outstanding accommodation, nestled in The North York Moors National Park. Our bed & breakfast near Staithes is directly on The Cleveland Way on the highest cliffs along the North East Coast, ideal for walking, cycling, sailing and water sports. Further afield you can visit lots of brilliant attractions in North Yorkshire.
We have two fabulous ensuite ground floor rooms to choose from, furnished to the highest standard benefitting from their own private terrace to relax and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine.
Both rooms have access to a large shared garden and The Forge Lounge, where you will find games and books and in the winter you will find a cosy Victorian open fire to chase away the winter chills.
Stables:
Our charming ground-floor bedroom boasts views over the garden and to the sea. The spacious room has leather furnishings and a toasty log-burning fire. French doors lead to a private tiered terrace, great for a coffee in the morning sun. The room can be arranged as two single beds. En suite facilities include a deep soak bath and separate shower.
Alum:
We offer fantastic accommodation in this ground floor room, based in the oldest part of the house. French doors lead to a private terrace with bespoke patio furniture and a hot tub to soak yourself in. The en suite has a large rain shower and a large rain sink.
Both rooms include a super king-size bed, luxurious handmade mattress, Egyptian cotton sheets, feather pillow and duvet, 52-inch smart flat screen TV, dining table & chairs, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, hospitality tray with fresh milk, Earth friendly toiletries, bathrobes & slippers, complimentary parking/cycle storage, USB charge points, free WiFi and complimentary boot cleaning facilities.
We offer a lovely breakfast basket to set you up for the day ahead, including Juice, fresh fruit and yogurt, assorted pastries/toast, homemade jams & marmalades, followed by a choice from our cooked menu selection. Our supper board menu is served between 6 pm- 8 pm using locally sourced produce. From beef bourgeon, dauphinoise potatoes & red cabbage to jerk cod loin served with creamed sweetcorn, new potatoes & steamed veg, we have something for everyone.
Only one mile north of Staithes a beautiful coastal fishing village recently voted in the top five place to visit is England, where you will find pubs, cafes, a fabulous local history museum, fishing and dolphin watching trips and great surfing. Nearby are unspoilt beaches, Saltburn a Victorian Spa town with a pier, funicular, Italian gardens and great restaurants . Also on our doorstep are Runswick Bay, Whitby, Ronin Hoods Bay , The North York Moors Railway, Eden Camp Military Museum and Castle Howard and much more .
