Victorian Hotel!
Pinegrove Hotel offers fabulous accommodation in Carlisle. Dating from 1877, this charming hotel is only a short stroll from the city centre and perfect for exploring all that Cumbria has to offer.
The beautiful hotel boasts a rich history and was originally built for a wealthy merchant. Later, the Victorian property was owned by the Bishop of Carlisle, where it gained its status as a monk’s haven known as Pencarl House. The property now offers high-quality accommodation whilst retaining its original character, including a tiled entrance hall, ornate cornice and stunning stained-glass window.
A range of tastefully furnished rooms are available: double, twin, single and family rooms. All the rooms include a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and en suite facilities. For an extra special occasion there is a gorgeous honeymoon suite. Ground floor rooms are also available.
A fantastic resident bar is great for enjoying a drink or two in, ideal after a busy day discovering Carlisle. There is a lovely restaurant which serves Indian meals every night.
The hotel has conference/meeting room facilities, with a range of optional extras available. Free function room for wakes, free parking and a function room can cater for up to 200 people.
Lots of great attractions are in Carlisle, including Carlisle Castle, a grand 12th Century fortress and prison. History fans can also visit the majestic Carlisle Cathedral or see fascinating collections at the Tullie House Museum And Art Gallery. In town, there are a great range of shops, restaurants and bars. Further afield you can visit Hadrian’s Wall, the Lakes and Border country.
