The Old Windmill in Aylsham, Norfolk, constructed in 1826 and operational as a flour mill for nearly a century, underwent a remarkable transformation after more than 80 years of neglect. Today, it stands as luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to six guests, spanning four floors interconnected by standard domestic stairs.
On the ground floor, guests are welcomed into an entrance hall leading to a utility room equipped with a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, and freezer, alongside a separate cloakroom.
The first floor unveils a beamed open-plan living space featuring a fully fitted kitchen. The lounge area offers two sofas, an armchair, a bean bag, a dining table with seating for six, and entertainment amenities including a TV with digital Freeview, DVD/VCR player, and a radio/CD/tape player. A hearth with a wood burner effect gas fire adds to the cosy ambience. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave oven, and gas cooker.
Ascending to the second floor reveals two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both sharing a dual en suite shower room.
On the third floor, guests will find a double bedroom with a king-size bed and an en suite bath and shower room.
The property boasts full gas central heating and a private walled patio garden complete with garden furniture and a gas barbecue.
Situated on the outskirts of the historic market town of Aylsham, The Old Windmill provides an ideal base for exploring North Norfolk, Broadland, and the nearby city of Norwich, as well as the Broads and the coastal town of Cromer, all within a 10-mile radius. Aylsham itself offers a charming rural setting amid scattered farms and villages, with good shopping facilities, pubs, restaurants, and takeaways. The nearest pub is just a 7-minute walk away.
