Countryside Campsite!
Berry Barton is a charming, family-run rural campsite nestled within a 350-acre working dairy farm in Branscombe. It provides an idyllic countryside retreat with spacious pitches and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Surrounded by lush green fields, the campsite offers breathtaking countryside views and direct access to the cliffs and the Jurassic coastal path.
Camping
Berry Barton welcomes all types of touring campers, including caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and tents. While pitches are not pre-assigned, the campsite does offer a limited number of electric hook-ups, which must be pre-booked. The main camping field features numerous water taps and a grey waste disposal drain located near the caravan site gate. The facilities have been recently refurbished, including a shower and toilet block and washroom facilities, which include a coin-operated washing machine and a separate tumble dryer. Children sharing accommodation with adults stay free, while a nominal charge applies for children on separate pitches. Fire pits are allowed, provided they are raised, do not damage the turf, and are properly extinguished afterwards. Dogs are welcome free of charge but must be kept on leads near livestock, and owners are responsible for disposing of dog waste in bins provided at the entrance.
Rental Caravans
Berry Barton's popular range of rental caravans offers excellent value for money, featuring tasteful furnishings and an open-plan layout that creates a spacious and comfortable environment. All rental caravans are equipped with mains water supply, mains electricity with coin-operated meters, and well-equipped kitchens with full-size cookers, electric fridges, microwaves, shower rooms, toilets, central heating, and double glazing. They can accommodate up to 6 people, with most caravans, featuring one double and one twin bedroom, along with additional pull-out beds in the lounge area if needed. A three-bedroom caravan is available upon request. Please note that bedding and linen are not included in the rental caravans.
The Area
Branscombe, one of East Devon's most picturesque villages, boasts charming thatched cottages set against a backdrop of National Trust land. The village road meanders past the historic Norman Church and Forge, leading down to the beach. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers a variety of walks, including the popular Heritage Coastal Path along the headland. One of the village's two inns, located within walking distance of the site, serves food and offers outdoor seating. Nearby towns include Sidmouth, known for its excellent shopping, cinema, and local theatre; the fishing village of Beer, approximately 3 miles east; and Lyme Regis, famous for its Cobb and Harbour, located further along the coast.
